1 out of 5 stars crappy service/Rio Beach-cabana sun shelter-sand anchor   August 29, 2008
SLA (SACRAMENTO, CA)
I ordered through Amazon (Rio Beach product) 1 Cabana Sun Shelter & 1 Sand Anchor for a beach umbrella. I received 3 of each....I called Rio Beach due to this error, they told me they would return my call in several hours....3 weeks later I'm still waiting. My credit card was charged incorrectly for all these items that I did not order. I'm not one bit pleased.......

1 out of 5 stars rio beach shade tent is no fun   August 25, 2008
K100 (Warrenville, IL)
I don't see why this thing gets great reviews. I used this tent two times at the beaches in Northwest Indiana and Ohio street beach in Chicago. Both days were very hot and windy. It was just the most miserable thing to try to set this tent up in the wind. It just kept getting blown over, even after it was set up. Look at its design, it just wouldn't withstand any sort of wind. The tent poles just kept popping right out of the tent loops, as there are no eye bolt type of anchors like a regular tent would have to hold the poles to the fabric loops. Also, the floor is plastic tarp material, meaning that sand is really attracted to it, and does not want to brush off at all! So on a hot, windy day, It was awful fighting this thing and laying on its sandy floor. I sold it off on ebay cheap to the next unsuspecting soul. The guy didn't leave any feedback, so I guess that's the amount of satisfaction he had! It may work for some folks, but not me. Chicago is too windy for this tacky thing. Don't bother buying it, research the net and get something more functional for the wind and beach.

4 out of 5 stars Great, but not outstanding.   August 16, 2008
Smrtmom (Texas)
I bought this to use while outside anytime for an extended period, as I am very fair. It is a great little cabana, but it could be a little bit taller. It is really designed for the beach, and for you to be sitting on or near the ground. If this is what you are looking for, then it will work out well for you.

It is easy to put up and take down, and fast too! Overall, it is great, but not outstanding.

Works great. But be careful setting it up on windy days. I pushed the rod through the matial the first time I was setting it up (with no real effort)... It is VERY THIN. I have used it twice and am looking too upgrade to the Eureka! Solar Shade.
