At least the water casing is Canon. April 23, 2008

The water casing is made by Canon while everything else is either Merkury Innovations (Targus) or some cheap brand that doesn't even put the company name on their product. The battery is a cheap knockoff by CTA and the memory card wallet is probably worth $0.50 at a dollar store. There is some image recovery software but it looks like one of those "AOL Free Trial" disks (the website has ImageRecovery 3 for sale while the included software is just ImageRecovery). The tripod feels so cheap that I'm almost afraid to put my G9 on it while it's extended at all. The USB SD card reader doesn't look anything like the picture, which actually looks somewhat nice, but instead is a cheap, fat, clear plastic thing.
I'm not unhappy with the product, but that's mostly because I have a water casing and a cheap battery backup. I'll probably end up buying a better tripod and a better carrying case in the near future.
